How Long After A Drunk Driving Accident Can I File A Lawsuit For My Injuries?

Typically, the statute of limitations for filing any type of negligence action in the state of Illinois is two years. Sometimes, however, the statute of limitations is only one year. Situations like that occur if the person driving is, for example, a governmental worker. You need to work closely with your attorney to insure that the statute of limitation is met or your case will be forever barred in a court of law.
